April 24 is the anniversary of the Mother’s installation in India, in the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry. It is also the anniversary of the founding of the Sri Aurobindo Yoga Mandir. Since 1993, Ramchandra Das has been taking in children from the most disadvantaged backgrounds in Nepal to provide them with a large, loving and joyful family. True to the teachings of Integral Yoga, he provides them with a holistic and comprehensive education, instruction through to university (and beyond) and a dignified and responsible future.
On April 25, 2015, the famous earthquake destroyed part of the ashram buildings in a matter of seconds… but in a miracle, no one was in the place where the bricks fell from the 4th floor… a place that is the heart of the ashram, in front of the kitchen and dining hall, where most of the children and young people are at mealtime… where they should have been at the time of the earthquake if everything had not happened differently. This is a reflection of Ramchandra Das’ work over the years: a continuous series of small and big miracles!
Dances of Nepal and Sacred Dances of India
April 24 is a day of intense and joyful celebration for all in the Ashram.
On this occasion, the children and young people of the Sri Aurobindo Yoga Mandir offer their dances to the world as a blessing for everyone.

“We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children”
This Amerindian proverb, which introduces the International Summit of Education for the Future, is also an invitation to listen to the words of the new generations in order to build the world of tomorrow.
It is clear that today we are leaving for our children and young people a totally unbalanced world where poverty, malnutrition, hunger, wars and pollution are worsening and intensifying.
In the age of the internet and social networks, the world is increasingly international. We are moving towards a universality of knowledge and education without borders. From the beginning, we wanted to give young people a voice. And Life has put everything in place! Satyanna Chris Luken is delighted to bring together a few young people from around the world, for a round table exploring 3 main questions:
- What is it like at school, or college, for you in your country? What is great? good? boring? unpleasant? useless?
- If you had a magic wand to change one thing? what is the first thing you would change? And if this magic wand could change a second thing, what would it be? a third?
- What would be the best school or college for you? … the school or college of your dreams?
Satyanna has already created a festival where she gave a voice to young people. In 2015, the 5th annual Green ValentineS Festival in Laguna Beach, California, invited young people to speak out about their concerns about their future on mother earth and how we could help them to create a sustainable future.
