The Evolution Game… and the story of the International Summit of Education for the Future
What intelligence is hidden in the 90% of our brain (or more, or less) that we do not use? Is it active in our lives?
This is the story of the creation of the International Summit of Education for the Future: a story of life and an invitation to go on a journey into the heart of the Evolution Game.
Peter Gray is a research professor of psychology and neuroscience at Boston College who has conducted and published research in neuroendocrinology, developmental psychology, anthropology, and education.
He is author of an internationally acclaimed introductory psychology textbook (Psychology, Worth Publishers, now in its 8th edition), which views all of psychology from an evolutionary perspective.
His recent research focuses on the role of play in human evolution and how children educate themselves through play and exploration, when they are free to do so. He has expanded on these ideas in his book, Free to Learn: Why Unleashing the Instinct to Play Will Make Our Children Happier, More Self-Reliant, and Better Students for Life (Basic Books).
He also authors a regular blog called Freedom to Learn, for Psychology Today magazine. He is one of the founders of the nonprofit Alliance for Self-Directed Education and of the nonprofit Let Grow, the mission of which is to renew children’s freedom to play and explore independently of adult control.
Children’s Playing Today is Key to a Happy and Peaceful World Tomorrow
What is the antidote to the phenomena of domination and aggression in the world?
Free play is fundamental to the social, emotional and intellectual development of children. It is the best way for them to learn to manage their lives, solve their problems, live in a community and become balanced adults.

The Danish Way of Education
What the Happiest People in the World know about educating confident, kind and capable kids
Denmark has been voted as one of the happiest countries in the world for over 40 years in a row. They are also ranked as one of the most empathic, innovative, trusting and have one of the lowest levels of bullying in Europe. This is in large part due to their innovative approach to education.
Humans didn’t evolve because we were selfish and had fangs and claws, we evolved because we could work together and rely on each other. The Danish education system is not about survival of the fittest, but rather, survival of the friendliest. Jessica will show us a new way of seeing how we can educate our children for the future, while leaving a legacy of happiness anywhere in the world.
