EFF is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to fill several vacancies. We are run almost entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers, and your service makes it possible for us to provide educational opportunities to school children in Kenya.

We are currently seeking to fill the following positions as of Spring 2012:

 

Grants Coordinator

The Grants Coordinator is responsible for helping the EFF secure grants to fund and support current and future EFF projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Search for available grants via online databases, grant/ non-profit resource centers, and online alerts that are relevant and specific to EFF projects
  • When necessary, schedule an in-person or phone interview with Grantee organization to whom EFF is applying to for grant funding.
  • Help to write grant proposals, with support from the Philanthropic Director and Kenya Director.
  • Prepare budget for each grant proposal with assistance of the Board of Directors and relevant Executive Directors.

 

Fundraising Coordinator

The Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for increasing the fundraising activities and effectiveness of EFF fundraising in the U.S.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Help to create a long term EFF Fund-raising Strategy for the next 2-3 years
  • Assess current fundraising activities and advise EFF on how to improve current fundraising activities
  • Plan and carry-out fundraisers for the EFF, with the help of other EFF staff and board members

 

 

Board of Directors

The EFF is currently seeking 2-4 passionate and dedicated additional members for its board of directors. Board members serve in an advisory role for a variety of issues. Responsibilities of board members vary, but include the following:

 

  • Attend monthly meetings, via phone or in-person
  • Serve on advisory committees within the organization
  • Help to promote the mission of EFF within their local communities
  • Help to raise funds for the EFF
